Gary – I have been following your progress every week and look forward to Wednesday’s paper. I am very proud of you for being so very honest about the “up’s and down’s” you experience. Yes, you are no different than most folks trying to get those extra pounds off. You have inspired me to join Weight Watchers and get accountable and for that I am very thankful. You have stuck your neck out there with your honesty and I also appreciate that very much. Do well and know that I care about your health. Please keep this in mind: PROGRESS not Perfection! I (and everyone else, I am willing to bet) still think you are an amazing person for sharing such a personal struggle in your life – whether you take of 50 or 100 pounds. Keep on trucking!
Gary,
You are a true inspiration for many folks in our area. Being a mentor is a wonderful benefit for both partners. I’m submitting an application today. Keep up the hard work and your progress is wonderful.
Gary,
Great to hear about what you are doing to both promote Kinship Partners AND to wellness! Great idea. Know that we are pulling for you down here in Minneapolis. Keep the faith!
Best Regards,

Gary….ok….in the beginning I thought “Who would do this to himself? Who would try to lose weight in the public eye?” But then I found myself reading your column every week and saying,”Oh NO!” or “Yea!” After reading today’s column, I decided that since I have such an opinion, I should put my money [literally] where my mouth is! I am going to FitQuest to sign up.
Can we do a team meeting once a week? [Only for high fives all around of course!]

Gary,
Your exercise plan is good, but if you want a different perspective on your diet, give me a call one of these days.
You’ve inspired me to lose 35 pounds since March, not to mention to become a mentor last year. Thanks, and keep up the good work! Scott
