Thursday Sept 20

Not an eventful day.  Just work and workout like most days. 

Bkfst: 2 eggs, toast.  Snk: missed.  Lunch: 6″ Subway chicken breast, spinach, tomato, hoeny mustard(low fat) sauce, pepper jack cheese.  Snk: healthy brownie.  Dinner: Chicken casadia, and some chips/salsa at Poncho’s.  Desert/snk: missed as I felt overdone from Poncho’s.  Lots of water.

Ex: 20min treadmill, 20min stair-stepper, 20 treadmill

Wednesday Sept 19

Today was a fun but not a good day for weight-loss.  I started the day good with a great hour workout.  Then headed to Fergus Falls for Lunch with their Sertoma club.  Then visited some clients in FF and Detroit Lakes.  I had to be back in Fergus for the Sertoma club new officer dinner.  Lunch was a wonderful bacon cheese burger, with fries and dinner was a fabulous pork tenderloin, corn on the cob and salad.  There was more food, but I did my best to pass, as I had gone to far already.  The part to remember was I did my event planning and ate the best items, and stayed away from the rest.  And I cut back the rest of the day. 

Bkfst: grapenuts.  Snk: latte.  Lunch: bacon cheeseburger, fries.  Snk: low fat brownie.  Dinner:  see above.  Snk: none.  Lots of water.

Ex: 20 treadmill, 20 elliptical, 20 treadmill. stretching

Sunday September 9

Now that I am backed into the corner I don’t really have the option of a free day anymore.  Oh, I will have a little extra if I worked out, or cut back on other meals but no more just blind free days.  With the school year started and the labor day behind I have new focus and am doing pretty good.  Still have moments where I argue I can have this and tomorrow I will do better, but those moments are getting to be fewer as I have no tomorrows. 

Bkfst: Healthy pancakes, 1 egg, 1 glass skim milk.  Snk: peach, healthy chips, grapes.  Lunch:  Healthy pancakes, 1 egg and milk (I liked the bkfst) and used sugar free syrup.  Aft snk: popcorn for part of Vikes game.  Diner: leftover hot wings, then 1 McDonald’s double cheeseburger, no cheese, and a few of my sons fries.  Ev snk healthy chips.  All in all a fairly good day for a Sunday that is normally a free for all, and I worked outside building dock sections for over 5 hours.

Ex: work dock sections, Jogged 3 miles on Tread mill.

Wednesday, Sept 5

Good day.  I think I am a little better at doing the right things.  I assume it helps to be backed into a corner and there really is no option to start tomorrow.  I must do well each day. 

Bkfst: Oatmeal, 1 toast.  Snk: Healthy Chips.  Lunch Sertoma/bonanza: 2 pieces broiled chicken, steak 1/2 potato.  Snk: rice and beans pack.  Diner: 1/2 burger, roast, cold salad stuff, (all leftovers from Labor Day weekend).  Desert: healthy cookie, and then a orange bar 60 cal from DQ.

Ex: 50min in FitQuest Aerobic class.

Will be on the road for Thursday so we will see how that goes.  I do plan on bringing a meal plan and my own snacks.

Tuesday September 4

Today was a good day and a tough exercise day.  Trying to make up for the Labor Day weekend and doing good.  Still a bit on edge about how far behind I am so we will see if I can make up some ground over the next few weeks.

Bkfst: 2 egg, grapenuts.  Mrn Snk: missed.  Lunch 2 enchillada at Poncho’s, and some chips.  Aft snk: missed.  Diner: 1/2 chicken wrap.  3 hot wings.  1 plum.  Desert snk: small diet candy bar (100 calories).  Lots of water, but did drink a 44 oz diet dew. 

Exc:  10min treadmill, weights .5 hour, 1.25 hours aerobics class.

Sunday August 19

Long time no journaling and as I sit here typing I recognize my weightloss has stalled about the same time I stopped writing.  Wasn’t keeping a journal one of the experts suggestions for keeping you and me on track.  Well I will be back at it so we will see if it really helps.  I have just over 18 weeks left and as of today 57 pounds or just over 3 pounds a week to lose.  We shall see.  I started a 2 mile a day running process last week and started to feel better again.  Weight was coming off but this weekend killed me.  I have went up 4 pounds since Friday morning. 

Starting Monday I will go back to full food journaling.  I have lots of thoughts and most are guilty about what I have not done.  I will write the article for the week later this day and lay out more of my thoughts about the next 4 months.  See you tomorrow.

Gary is down 42 pounds.  He has greatly neglected his blog because we got out of the rhythm of school.  He will continue shortly.

Wednesday June 27

Another good day.  Ate within my guide, except for one cookie at a friends house while watching the Twins game.  It is fun at times because at a Sertoma evening meeting we had prime rib, and even the meat carver took time to cut the extra fat off my piece, and that was his idea.  Having people support you is the key.

Bkfst: 2 eggs, grapenuts. Snk: yogurt with fresh wild blueberries.  Lunch: bonanza for sertoma.  Salad, 2 chicken thighs(no skin), 5 pieces of fried shrimp, skipped the potata today.  Snk: granola and dried fruit.  Diner: (sertoma new officer installation, Gary Loge made the best prime rib) Prime rib sandwich, plus an extra 4-6 once 2nd piece of meat, small portion of potato salad, and a chocolate truffle made from the chocolate store in Brainerd(fabulous, and it took will power to only have one).  Ev snk: cookie at John’s, and 1/4 c wild blueberries with skim milk and fat free cool whip.  After writting this I had a good day eating, for anyone, and hard to believe I lost weight, but I did.

Ex: just over an hour of Racquetball, wow what a workout.  (2nd time playing in years)

Monday June 25

Today was a unique day that should not have been unique.  I ate and exercised like I should have been doing for the past months.  I am trying to catch up a little this week so I need to do extra work and stay on task.  In the past I cheated way to much with slow results.  I need to see what happens if I do the right thing. 

Food: grapenuts.  Snk: yogurt with protein powder.  Lunch: Hamburger, and baked chips.  Snk: strawberries that Lisa and the kids picked with skim milk and no fat cool whip.  Diner: 3 hot dogs(one without bun) baked chips.  snk: strawberry protein drink.  Plus had about 2 cups of fresh strawberries as the family cleaned them.

Ex: 10min stairstepper, 20 min elipticle, lift weights.  Ev, ran 1.2 miles

Thursday June 21.

Today was another ok day, but I missed a few snacks.  Running around with work, but I should remember to have protein bars in easy reach for such occasions.  Working out with a goal of increasing my speed has made the workouts more interesting.  I have talked about a marathon in my life, so maybe this is the start. 

Bkfst: 2 eggs grapenuts.  Snk: missed.  Lunch Ponchos buffalo chicken sandwich and today I had fries.  Snk: missed.  Diner: Fried egg sandwich(no butter) Snk: After baseball small strawberry sundae.

Ex: 20 min treadmill, 1 mile 4.7mph.
